What is Closure?

Firstly, I am really sorry that I haven’t been able to stay regular despite having promised the same.

Just been promoting my book and hence, I have been a bit busy. So I have decided to do a short question answer session for the readers.

A short poetry on a closure I got. What is your take on closure?

I had been clinging to false hopes,

Despite knowing the truth,

I stayed wanting to bind him with love,

A love to which he paid no heed,

He fell for another and I was left alone,

Many nights I spent crying myself hoarse.

.

He and I were a story I wanted to tell,

And as I began penning it down,

Somewhere through those pages I found a closure,

Not all stories conclude themselves,

Not all stories are happily ever after tales,

Sometimes it’s necessary for us to give ourselves the closures we seek,

We deserve it to thrive again, it’s the Soul’s need.

.

When I saw the author copies of my book and went through them, I had sighed. It was my closure to a beautiful chapter in my life and I was really glad. Sometimes we get closures when we least expect them and that’s what happened with me. It brought me a peace I hadn’t experienced in ages. My first book will remain close to my heart, for many reasons and this is one of them.

What are your thoughts on Closure? Let me know in the comments section.

Excerpt 1 : Manizer

Hold your horses. Here she comes. Vanessa the Manizer.

[This is the story of Vanessa. She is an inspiration and amalgamation of various women I have known. She is you. She is me. She is real. She is bold. She is sorted. She is confused. A paradox of nature. A Manizer made by situations but turned philosopher by one man.]

Manizer? That’s not even a term.Really? So what? If there can be womanizers then there can be a term called Manizer too. There is Seductress, Temptress, Femme Fatale etc. but why isn’t Manizer part of the posse? That is what me and my friends called me MANIZER.

.

Not much of a story behind it. I had been through a volley of relationships and ended up dumping them. I was rated a Slut, a Hoe and a lot many other words because of that. Was my story ever heard? Naah! Not really! Not that I cared anymore (there used to be a time when I did). Time made me realize ignorance was certainly bliss.

.

Yeah, so what if I wasn’t into serious commitments? I made sure men knew that before they started dating me and no, this wasn’t because I was a bitch. I had already tried giving love a chance THRICE and they all turned out to be infidels so anything serious now scared the wits out of me.

.

A Hoe, A slut, whatever people might call me. I never seduced or tempted men but my tiniest advances got them hooked, they lusted after me (I had that charm and I was definitely NOT thankful for that). Also, I did not rebuff any flirtatious advances but I refused to risk falling for anyone again. So, you get it why the term Manizer seems more suitable, atleast to me.

PRIMA DONNA

A Short Tale of a lost Starlet ‘Prima Donna’, revived on this festival of lights, (Diwali) .

.

The lights shone a little brighter this year,

As her heart and soul felt a lot lighter on this festival of lights,

As the lights shimmered so did her soul.

The happiness apparent;

She shone in all her rarity,

Like the Prima Donna she once was,

One who was forgotten in the worldly chaos..

TERRITORY

2018-05-23-20-46-33-490
“The Tale of the Submission of an Alpha”

No, she was not waiting for a knight in shining armor,

Neither was she on a lookout for a Prince Charming;

Nor did she want the moons and stars.

All she craved for was a real man who could dare to date a strong, independent woman,

Someone who had the mettle to tolerate her stubborness,

A man bold enough to correct her if she was wrong;

She wanted a man who was proud to call her his own,

A man who accepted her for who she was.

An Alpha as she was,

Fierce, Stable and Wild;

She never expected to find such a guy.

But she got a lot more when he arrived on the scene,

A man who questioned her dominance at every stage.

She never feared the fire as she was one herself,

But with him everything was different.

Her confidence wavered for the very first time,

It still does whenever she is around him.

She became a nervous wreck,

And The butterflies he gave her;

Made even her words lose track.

He was a man who loved all shades of her,

And her darker shades intrigued him even more.

She clearly acknowledged his dominance,

And understood her defiance was in vain.

But the hostile Alpha inside,

Refused to be tamed,

It kept testing her mate;

Trying to hurt him every few miles,

Just to make her submission seem Worthwhile.

When he refused to budge,

Even the Alpha got hooked,

The fact that got her addicted to him;

He knew how lethal she was,

Yet had the audacity to mark her as his TERRITORY.

ALPHA

2018-04-06-14-10-01-584
“The Tale of an Alpha Queen”

Alone she stands, unwavering and tall,

Fierce to the bone and savage to the core.

Different from the rest, she is one of a kind,

She won’t make amends if she is right;

undoubtedly a rare find.

She is well versed in consoling herself,

She has learnt to wipe her own tears,

She has taught herself to be her own support,

She wears new facades everyday,

So don’t mistake yourself, you can’t read her changing personas each day.

She is the ALPHA of her own life.

She has no penchant for your shenanigans and

Anger in her patient self is what irrelevant histrionics ignite.

A lone wolf by sight and a queen by right,

She is the centurion of the arena you are playing at

Believe it when I say you can’t gauge her might.
